March 20-24 we had events in Elizabeth New Jersey and Mt. Bethel Pennsylvania working with a NJ Councilman and founding leader of The Bridge Youth Ministries who has organized events for us in the past. It was great to partner with him again and be part of his vision to reach out to his community.
It was a bonus to have our friends the Wrights from New Hampshire with CW Trials join us for an event in NJ to help out and spend time sharing and praying about our ministries.
We did two community events in Elizabeth and had a great response. Then we headed to Mt. Bethel for a youth retreat where we did a UniShow and held a unicycle workshop. After the show, students told Dustin that he shared just what they needed to hear regarding persevering through tough times in God's strength. When we share how God has worked in our lives He uses it to connect with those in similar circumstances. Have you shared your story recently?
For the workshop we had 11 unicycles available for the students to try. For over two hours not one of the unicycles went unused for more than a minute. As soon as one student was done giving it a go another would step up and put the unicycle to use. It was neat to see all 11 unicycles being used so eagerly. Several students made great progress, discovering the difficulty of unicycling as well as a sense of accomplishment from their dedication.
Immediately after the workshop in the early evening of the 24th, we loaded up and hit the road for an all night drive back to MN. It was a long but smooth 20 hour road trip and we made it back in time to disassemble the unicycles, pack up, get a few hours sleep before heading to the airport on the 26th for Iraq.
