Bashing Fall at Grace Church

Two days after returning from Cairo we shared the UniShow with children and families for Grace Church Eden Prairie's AWANA Fall Bash. Despite jet lag and Dustin still recovering from falling on his back off the ramps during the last show at the Cave Church in Cairo, we had a great event. It was a treat and privilege to perform at our home church.

Dustin shared his story and the Gospel and many students responded and gave their lives to Jesus! It was neat to see kids coming up front with their friends to help introduce them to God. We pray that these young lives will follow God all their days and tell many others about His great love!

New Territory in Egypt

Directly after our last show Sunday at the first festival we took a 10 hour bus ride to Upper Egypt with the skaters, illusionist and strong men. It was a bonding experience as we were all exhausted yet tried to keep each other cheery as our driver constantly got lost, turning this intended 6 hour trip into a memorable 10 hours.

The Monday festival in Upper Egypt was the first ever in the area. It was a hectic day but once things got rolling some great ministry took place. We did 2 combined shows with the skaters, strong men and UniShow and it flowed well. Many accepted Jesus and we had a special prayer time with individuals afterward.

After a quick dinner on the bank of the Nile, we loaded the bus again and headed back to Cairo for a much more direct and uneventful trip.

Tuesday's festival at the Cave Church hosted nearly 20,000 people in Manshiyat naser Cairo and was an unexplainable experience. We all considered it a privilege to be the first to ever do performance outreach on the Cave Church grounds. Each performer in our group did 3 shows throughout the day on different "stages". Since performers have never shared in this area before, the people were very excited to have us there. Their aggressive enthusiasm was quite overwhelming and some of us feared for our safety as crowds closed in for pictures and autographs and just to touch us. Fortunately, our Egyptian church friends were very mindful of our well being throughout it all. The Gospel was shared numerous times at each venue and we saw much evidence God used it to touch people's hearts amidst the chaos.

God is truly doing mighty things in Egypt. What a privilege to be a small part of it! Please pray for the thousands who heard about Jesus this week through these events.

God is rocking in Egypt!

Our 4th trip to Egypt was amazing! In 5 days we did 11 shows for 20,000 people, plus millions viewed coverage on satellite TV throughout the Middle East.

Friday through Sunday was the festival we've done previously and we saw a record attendance of 30,000 total. Past years the head religious leader Egypt's largest Christian denomination has denounced the festival telling people if they attended they couldn't take communion. This year no such announcement was made. People bused in by the thousands from all over Egypt. Tickets to the festival were such a hit that they were being resold for profit and tickets were being counterfeited.

There was lots for people to see: skateboard demos, strong men, UniShow, illusionist, bands, billiards trick shot artist, freestyle motocross, art gallery. And lots for people to do: high and low ropes course, zip line, food court, skate park, climbing wall, kids zone, team sports.

We prayed with people throughout the day after our shows. Each evening everyone would gather in the stadium for a rally with music and a local pastor speaking. This evening session is broadcast live by satellite throughout the middle east. Thousands gave their lives to Christ for the first time. It was incredible.

Our last shows in Kyrgyzstan were at elementary schools and a university. Some local students joined David doing hip hop during our show at the Ak Bata School in Tokmok and shared their fancy moves.

We were warmly received by an enthusiastic and engaged audience at the International University of Central Asia. Many students there are studying English so we had great conversations after the show. We were gifted with IUCA hats and t-shirts and hope to keep in touch with students we met.

Our 11 shows in Kyrgyzstan all went well and much truth was shared. We learned after our show at the Disabled Men's Home that some men who had responded to the invitation had approached believing caretakers asking what they should do now since they just gave their lives to Jesus! We also heard that students had told believing teachers they wanted to know more about the message we had shared. We know God is at work far beyond our hour and half show!

On our way back to Istanbul we had a 14 hour layover in Moscow and did some fun sightseeing around Red Square. All the trouble we had getting our Russian visas were forgotten as we experienced the sights, sounds and tastes of this historical city.

We had one last show in Istanbul at Cevahir Mall before heading back to the states. Katie was a bit sore from running the full Istanbul Intercontinental Marathon two days before but still managed to pull off a good show. The stage was round and a bit wobbly since it had the capability of elevating at least 25 meters! Unfortunately there was a bit of drama at the end of our show when we did a drawing with names we had collected from interested spectators and tried to hand out DVD's with a message as prizes. The management had been informed this would take place but still got upset and caused a scene. We know that thousands still heard a clear message of hope and we pray that God will use that truth to have an eternal impact on their lives.

In Kyrgyzstan we've done 8 shows so far in Tokmok, in villages nearby
and in Bishkek. Almost all shows have been in schools and we have
been able to share a limited message about God's love. We only have
one translator so not many real conversations after shows; just lots
of autographs and photos. At the encouragement of our organizer, we
have been writing Bible references and phrases like "God loves you",
"God is truth", and "God is for you" along with our autographs so
hopefully the students will find a way to translate them later. After
each show we do a quiz with the students to see if they were paying
attention to the show and then hand out DVD's with a message to the
kids as prizes.

Today was a special show at an institution for disabled men. There
were over 100 men and many were up front dancing around to the music
the whole time and they all seemed to be thoroughly enjoying
themselves, totally uninhibited. It was really precious to watch,
though heartbreaking to see some of the men's conditions! After the
show, our organizer shared and about 20 men raised their hands to
receive the Lord! It was very exciting!

Three more shows to go…

Another good note, we all received our passports back today with
Russian visas in them! So, we are good to go for the flight back!
Glad that ordeal is over! Whew!

The Mall Tour in Turkey

Our Turkey tour has come to a close and we all concur that it was very worthwhile. We did 11 shows, 8 of which were at shopping malls. We were well received in all of them and many graciously provided meals for us.

Dustin was able to share more deeply with a young man after a show in Gaziantep who was blown away by how open and sure Dustin was about his faith. We also got to meet another young man who came to faith as a result of our show in his city two years ago. After a park show, Katie had the opportunity to share the full message with a young lady who was very interested in hearing more about God.

We were both interviewed after our show at Prime Mall in Adana for a national news service. The show received press all across Turkey.

We believe we maximized our outreach opportunities through mass seeds sown from the stage, conversations following the events and hundreds of surveys collected at shows with people's contact info for future follow up.

Touring in Turkey

Our 3rd country of this TACO tour is off to a great start. After Albania we had a few days to regroup before our performances in Turkey began. After a day of rehearsal in Istanbul and we did a dress rehearsal of sorts at a local seaside park. This part of the tour includes a band, StoryBox, and drama elements along with unicycling and dance.

Our first stop once we hit the road was Bursa where we did two shows just outside a large mall. We performed here last year and have always had big crowds. Each show drew around 2,000.

This year our sharing and dramas reflect our theme of raising awareness about violence against women. We have found many open doors for performances when we are able to address a social issue and weave in the truth of God's love. The truth is God loves women and greatly values them! It's been neat to share hope with so many that truly need their eyes open and tell them God sees their hurt and is there with them.

Our next stop in Turkey's capitol, Ankara, was inside a shopping mall. Shoppers watched from all three levels overlooking our performance area. We were able to share more in depth with people afterward. In Gaziantep we also performed at a large shopping mall with four levels for crowds to watch. The mall management liked our show so much they have asked us to return next week for a second show.

All about Albania

We were privileged to participate in TACO's first tour in Albania with 7 events in 5 cities. Our performance elements were unicycling, dance and fire poi. Several of our shows were in smaller villages with great reception from the locals. In one village we were told they had not heard our important Message in decades.

Other shows were in bigger cities with over 1,000 people in attendance. Our last performance in the capital, Tirana, was crazy with kids running on stage playing with props during the show, fights in the crowd, police intervention and a sound system that kept coming unplugged. In spite of it all, the message of Truth and Hope and Love was shared during and after the show and God was glorified.

We were blessed to work with a very special family the entire week who have a great heart for the youth of Albania. We truly hope to partner with them again next year.

Kickin' it in Kosova

Our tour in Kosovo wrapped up in the beautiful mountains ofPeja. In total we had9 events in 6 cities and shared truthwith thousands. We felt constantspiritual opposition so we ramped up our prayer support and took note that we were stirring up strongholds. Despite major problems with our sound system, we were still able to proceed with each event and the message of God's love still challenged the hearts of our audiences.

Katie, Michelle and Susanne were able to meet for coffee with two girls we connected with at our high school event. They shared their life stories and challenged these students with the Gospel. It was a special time and we pray these girls continue to hear God calling them to Himself.

Though we've only been away from Minnesota and on tour 10 days, we feel like we've come back home. We flew into Istanbul August 21 and stayed one night before traveling overnight by bus through Bulgaria and Macedonia to Kosovo. God got us through all the border crossings without incident, though Dustin had to juggle at 4am for the stern Macedonian officials to prove he could use his equipment. They almost smiled.

We've had 6 events so far around Kosovo, unicycling, dancing and using fire poi to share the love of God! Our team of 8 from Switzerland, Denmark, USA and Kosovo has been very unified and God has blended all our abilities well to serve Him.

We are very sensitive about how we are sharing the Message here. We have had great, responsive, interested crowds though we have heard from them that it is a difficult message to hear. Katie even had a chance to share with an Imam after an event.

Thanks for praying for seeds of truth to take root and crumble barriers. Please also pray for sound equipment issues we've been having during the performances.

Shoulder to Shoulder in Peru

The last week of July was spent in Lima Peru with 205 others from Grace Church. We worked "hombro a hombro" with hundreds from our sister church in Callao. We did 19 presentations for nearly 13,000 Peruvians and a few dogs. Throughout the week we saw nearly 4,000 choose to follow Jesus for the first time! It was an exciting week ministering in parks, shopping malls, streets, schools, a rehabilitation center and parade. It was special to reunite with friends made during our previous 4 visits to Peru and special to make new ones. They are such gracious, joyful, loving people and it was a privilege to serve with them again!

Other points of interest include eating cow heart and stomach, and Dustin lighting his face on fire while fire breathing during a show. He was told afterward not to take literally the saying, "he's so on fire for Jesus that people come for miles just to watch him burn"! It sure worked as an attention grabber and he proceeded to share the powerful Gospel message and ride and juggle on his 10 ft. unicycle to complete the show.

Gracias for the unicycles!

As a result of our past visits to Peru, several unicyclists are now there who have put together unicycles with scrap bike parts. Unicy cle.com and Quality Bike Products generously donated parts with which we were able to build many complete unicycles to leave for a blossoming new unicycle outreach. As a result, many Peruvian kids will be able to learn to ride a unicycle who otherwise wouldn't have this opportunity. We were able to leave many extra parts for them to use for more unicycles in the future, as well. It was neat to see the kids get excited about trying out these new unicycles.

Nothing cold about Cold Spring

We both rode unis in Richmond's River Lake Day's Parade Saturday evening. We were accompanied by people handing out invitations and vehicles displaying banners announcing "Dustin Kelm: World Champion Unicyclist" performing Sunday morning at River of Life Church in neighboring Cold Spring MN.

July 17, the UniShow was the headliner for both Sunday morning services held outdoors in the River of Life Church parking lot under a big tent. Despite the extreme heat and humidity, it was a great time of outreach and in each service adults and children indicated they had prayed to receive Christ for the first time! We were thrilled and are rejoicing with the angels!

It was great to partner with another wonderful ministry that is having an impact on their community. They were a great blessing to us, as well.

Dustin Kelm – Olympic Gold Medalist!

The 7^th annual NightVision Festival was an exciting time of ministry under the beautiful Colorado sky in Olathe. Nearly 40,000 people attended the festival this year, braving hot temperatures and occasional lightening and rain storms, which God graciously kept from ever being show stoppers. We performed at the extreme sports stage each day, along with DefyGravity and the Strength Team. A smooth, hard surface wasn't available for Dustin to perform on, so they made one. A great, solid stage was carefully constructed which met the specifications for the floor plan of a house!

It was great to connect with other artists and awesome festival organizers who had put so much into making this festival happen for the glory of God! We saw many give their lives to Jesus and heard repeatedly that Dustin’s testimony had ministered greatly to people. Dustin had a live radio interview on Passion Radio 95.7 KPCL where he was able to share how God is using the UniShow and creative arts throughout the Middle East.

Dustin was announced from main stage as an Olympic Champion Unicyclist. Oh well, close enough! A good time was had by all and we pray that lives changed would continue to follow God’s path forever and take others along with them.

Waconia Strikes Again

For the second time in 2 months we headed to the nearby town of Waconia MN for a youth outreach. Back in May we were thrilled to partner with Fellowship of Christian Athletes for their end of year Spring Fling at Waconia High School, encouraging students to continue using their skills and abilities for God's glory.

June 24th we participated in Waconia's 9th annual BLAZE summer kick-off outreach at ParkSide Church. Thankfully, the rain held off and several hundred students heard the truth of Jesus through Dustin's message, a couple bands and Levi the speaker guy.

Our 3 weeks in the Atlanta area were certainly not boring. We did 10 events and networked with many for potential events for next years GA tour, Lord willing.

One of the best parts of our tour was, for the first time, connecting with our OM Arts International team (see photo below). We got in on several regular team prayer meetings, a monthly team breakfast with a business agenda, and numerous meals and meetings with OM groups and individuals to learn and share and deepen our relationship with OM as a whole. We feel so much more connected and unified with OM and have learned lots about the organization and more of how we fit into this ministry with which we serve. It is a humbling privilege to be linked to this amazing organization that now has 6,100 workers serving in over 118 countries!

We partnered with SOUND Student Ministry at Peachtree City Christian Church Wednesday, March 30 for a fun and inspiring evening of the UniShow. Several fellow OM families attend this church so we were blessed with a team effort for set up and tear down. Dustin shared his testimony and challenge that God never leaves us in our trials but grows us through them. We heard afterward that this is just what the students needed to hear.

Thursday, March 31 we were able to present the UniShow for all of OM USA at the headquarters in Tyrone. It was a privilege to be able to give a visual explanation of the UniShow branch of OM Arts International and demonstrate how we might be able to serve in greater capacity among other OM ministries.

We are keeping busy here in Georgia. It was great to minister to a hundred middle schoolers bright and early before school on Friday the 25th at Bennett's Mill in Fayetteville for Fellowship of Christian Students and Athletes. Dustin wowed them with a few unicycles and challenged the kids with stories from our fall tour in the Middle East and what our friends there are willing to endure for Christ.

Sunday the 27th was a whirlwind with 3 presentations back-to-back in 3 different locations. On Friday, we set up most of our structures at the first location and had visited the second location to get a feel for how to make the quick transition. This early prep made the day much more manageable.

We began at New Hope Baptist's North Campus for the 9:15a Awakening service, did an abbreviated UniShow and shared the Gospel. With 3 helpers, we packed up as the outreach continued and drove 20 minutes to New Hope's South Campus to share the UniShow and Gospel for the Awakening outreach there already in progress. After the 2nd program we packed up and headed to a nearby high school for SouthCrest Church's afternoon 3 on 3 basketball tournament youth outreach for yet another UniShow demo with Dustin's testimony.

It was a crazy day but such a privilege to partner with all 3 of these outreaches where the focus and goal was reaching students with the pure and simple Gospel of salvation in Jesus! We heard that at the morning outreaches there were youth that had never even been to a church before. We heard that at the afternoon outreach only about 20% of the students attending were part of the regular church youth program. There were also quite a few police officers and sheriffs for security at the tournament outreach and we pray the truth they heard will make an eternal impact on their lives. Please pray for the hundreds of students we had the privilege of ministering to this weekend. Pray that God will continue to Awaken their hearts to surrender completely to Him!

Jesus loves the children of Atlanta

We had the great privilege of partnering with NightLight Atlanta for 2 evenings of outreaches in the intercity. This is a ministry that reaches out to women and children exploited in the sex industry. We joined the kids club outreaches in two "neighborhoods" of Atlanta and shared a UniShow and Jesus with the children. At each event Dustin shared the Gospel and led kids in a prayer to receive Jesus. After leading prayer at one outreach, Dustin explained that those who just prayed to receive Jesus are now children of God. One boy who had prayed threw his fists in the air and said, "Yes!" These kids desperately need to know they matter and have a heavenly Father who loves them extravagantly.

It was heartbreaking but we are thankful for the opportunity to share the love and hope of Jesus with these precious kids. Please pray for the ongoing ministry of NightLight and their follow up weekly with these kids. They will be leading the kids in a baptism service soon and we pray many kids will participate and take a bold and radical stand for Jesus and find His healing and love.

Georgia on My Mind

After being part of OM Arts for almost 3 years we finally made it to the home office near Atlanta to connect with our team. We visited Operation Mobilization several times during our application process, but since officially joining we haven't had the opportunity.

On March 20th, through fellow OM connections we were able to serve at Oak Hill Baptist Church in Griffin, GA for their Sunday morning Missions service. It was exciting for Dustin to be able to share the Gospel and give the whole church a powerful challenge to use their beautiful facility and resources to make a difference for Jesus across the street and around the world! We heard from many that this was a Missions service people won't quickly forget; we pray it's the Mission that stays with them and motivates them to use whatever God has given them to make a difference.

That same Sunday afternoon we packed up and headed across town to Grace Evangelical in Fayetteville for an AWANA program. After the beautiful sound of students reciting verses and Christian pledges, we started the UniShow. The students were challenged to keep on seeking all God has for them and use their gifts and talents for Him.

We are looking forward to a few weeks in the Atlanta area doing various outreaches and connecting with OMers.

Snow, Sub Zero Temps and Zero Wheel Bearings Won't Stop Us.

After digging our van out of 10* inches of snow for 45 minutes in our Minneapolis driveway, we found the only freeway ramps in town that were open and finally headed west; out of the blizzard in Minnesota and into the -10 to -20f temps of North Dakota. A trailer wheel bearing issue in Billings Montana caused us to lose a day of planned travel and forced an all-nighter of driving.

But praise the Lord, we made it to the first event on our West Coast tour in Tacoma Washington with Coyote One Wheelers unicycle club. Dustin did a demo and shared a message with riders and parents after their club practice. Students were inspired by the variety and level of Dustin’s skills and were challenged with broadened horizons of what can be done on a unicycle. We enjoyed connecting with this encouraging community.

Our next and lengthier stop was in the little fishing town of Westport WA. Here we did an outreach for a local youth group where at least 3 students gave their lives to Christ! We did a school assembly for 350 enthusiastic elementary students and an evening community event where hundreds of dollars and much caned food were collected for needy people. Dustin also joined the 50 riders in the school unicycle club, signing helmets, unicycles, shirts and shoes and giving students riding tips and a helping hand as they practiced. It was a privilege to partner with caring leaders in this town who desire to share hope and love with the students, many of whom face challenging circumstances.

Count it Right

During the three days of 2010 Count it Right Festival, 22,500 people attended and over 6,000 indicated decisions to follow Christ! Millions more throughout the Middle East watched the festival via satellite TV.

It was an exciting year with more activities and performances for the attendees than ever before. In this country, festivals of this nature and retreat centers of this magnitude don't exist so it was quite a draw for the thousands that came.

We performed twice daily with a prayer time after each performance for individual's needs. Many were impacted by the message of God's love and care for them. We also enjoyed reconnecting with fellow performers, organizers, volunteers and attendees whom we have been getting to know over the past 3 years. As we all parted ways, it wasn't "good bye" it was "see you next year."

We thank God for the way He prepared hears for a great harvest of souls and transformed lives. He again blessed the vast efforts of the hundreds of leaders and volunteers from the church who organized this festival. It was a great privilege to partner with them to bring the gospel of God's love to the people of the Middle East.

Day one of the Count it Right Festival 2010 saw 8,000 people and a ton of activity. We performed twice with BMX/skaters from Boarders for Christ and two strength teams from the USA and Scandinavian. Also, performing throughout the day were martial artists, a Brazilian jujitsu team, billiard trick shot artist, an illusionist, dramas, freestyle motocross and music. There is also a health clinic, high ropes course, arts tent, kid’s zone, zip line, McDonalds and Smiley’s for attendees to choose from.

The gospel was shared multiple times throughout the day and again in the stadium at the evening rally, which is broadcast by satellite to millions throughout the Middle East. We saw thousands respond to the message and receive Jesus. We are excited for two more days of exciting ministry here.

It was amazing to be in the beautiful mountains of Colorado in November and have unusually warm, sunny weather. We spent the weekend at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park with the Rocky Mountain Conference United Methodist Church and a large population of giant elk.

Dustin shared with 400 junior high and high school students on the topic of Rejuvenation. He established God as our Creator and the Bible as our “owner’s manual” and guide to true rejuvenation, often contrary to the world’s ideas of how to be renewed. Through the UniShow, he shared from his own life story how we are often put through the heat of trials, like clay in the Potter’s hands in the process of becoming all God wants us to be.

It was a powerful ending session to see the student’s line up with their written list of “old things” to destroy in shredders, symbolizing their embrace of a renewed walk with Christ. We pray God will continue His rejuvenating work in each of their lives.

We faced rain again in Decan but were blessed with a nice covered outdoor stage still under construction. When it started to get dark the workers cleared off their tools and material and we carefully swept off all the metal shards to prevent flat unicycle tires. We set up some lights, blasted some music and the crowd came.

Our two shows in Peja both went to plan B due to rain. Our first show was in a theater and we were all excited to perform on a proper stage. We had doubts that people would find us indoors but the fire dancers performed in the town center and then led the large crowd that had gathered to the theater with a flaming torch. We heard from local workers that night that we were an answer to 10 years of prayers. God is doing something new in Kosovo and it is humbling to be part of it.

On our last day in Peja we had our last full show of the tour. Though we had prayed hard for clear skies and dry ground, the rain had covered the basketball court outside the high school where the show was supposed to take place, where all 2,000 students could watch. Instead teachers selected 100 students to see the show inside their tiny gym. It seems God allowed less distractions for those 100 select students to clearly hear of His great love.

Between shows it was so refreshing to have a chance to drive up into the mountains of Peja in the misty rain and see the fall colors and visit a waterfall.

Our last event was a follow-up at the church in Ferizaj where we had done an outreach the week before. We shared testimonies and a bit of unicycling and dance during this low key evening. It was very exciting to see again the two 14 year olds that Katie had prayed with the week before. Another young man attended who was very interested in what we had shared and asked for one-on-one discipling.

Kosovo is not only the newest country in the world it also has the youngest population in Europe with 70% being under the age of 30. We thank God for an amazing tour in Kosovo and we are already looking forward to returning someday!

Our Kosovo tour continues to be so refreshing and obviously directed by God.

In Ferizaj we had amazing support from the local church for our outreach. They organized a great team to help with set up, crowd control, acquiring contact info from the audience, our meals and accommodations and follow-up. It was a blessing to work with them and we look forward to being part of their follow-up event to connect with many we met at that first show. The power in the city went out in the middle of our show but the fire dancers held the crowd with their stunts until the kind municipality allowed us to plug into their generator. This show was a highlight for Katie because she was able to share more in depth with two 14 year old boys who then made commitments!

Our show on Mother Teresa Boulevard in Prishtina was super cold but good connections were made and we shared truth with crowds and individuals. On Sunday Dustin had the opportunity to give his testimony at church. His words ended up connecting quite well with the content of the teaching that followed.

Gjilan and Kamenica greeted us with rain but we were able to find covering for our performances and most of the audiences and somehow, divinely, over 100 people gathered and thoroughly enjoyed each show. Despite the rain and cold we are so thankful for what God is doing through this tour, above and beyond what we had hoped.

After a great tour in Bulgaria we took a 9 hour overnight bus ride through Macedonia to Pristina Kosovo. The Bulgarian border officials had some trouble deciding what to do with Dustin because he appeared to be in the country illegally. The officials on the Turkey/Bulgaria border had not entered him into the system and did not stamp his passport. After some questioning and delay for the entire bus, one of the officials declared "We are good police, you can go...make sure you have stamp next time."

Upon our arrival in Kosovo we had some great orientation and great food. We have a super host here who has a big heart for the people of Kosovo. He has organized a full line up of venues for us and is very enthusiastic about our partnership with him. We are the first international group to come to Kosovo and share a message of true Hope and Love through creative outreach performances. We feel extremely privileged to be here in the newest country in the world (only 2 years old)!

On our first performance day we did 2 shows at a preschool for the cutest 3-6 year olds ever. Though we made our message very simple, we know they, as well as their teachers, thoroughly enjoyed it and heard about God’s love. It was actually quite special to share with these precious children who need to know that they are known and loved.

Next we shared with students at a gypsy camp. Their eyes were full of the heaviness of the world but they were well behaved and seemed to drink in the Prodigal Son parable about God’s love. That same day we visited a city with a large Turkish population and did a spontaneous show on the sidewalk near the city center. Several hundred people gathered and seemed totally into the performing and message. We had great conversations with many who stayed after wanting to talk.

God has really blessed our events and kept doors open and we look forward to the rest of this amazing tour.

Good Times In Bulgaria

We can hardly believe that we started out this TACO tour nearly 2 months ago in the scalding heat of temps over 100F/40C. The temperature dropped quite a bit during our second week in Bulgaria. One show was rained out where it was impossible to set up in the beautiful town square where we had received permission to perform. The band, however, did a simple acoustic set outside under a café awning. We handed out flyers of the band StoryBox with the Prodigal Son story and though Dustin was just sitting in the café chatting with some Bulgarians, his flyers with his testimony were high in demand among the small audience the band drew.

Dustin did great keeping the message clear and succinct while, during some shows, his message was translated into Turkish and then into Bulgarian. We again had very attentive and helpful hosts who have been busy preparing for us, transporting and serving with us and will be busy with all the follow up once we leave. We know and trust that though we didn’t have huge crowds, God drew those who did attend and He will use the truth we shared to make an eternal difference. He is worthy to be proclaimed, regardless of the results we can see!

Bulgarian Kardjali Province

Our first week in Bulgaria in the Kardjali Province included 7 shows in 7 different cities. Each were well received and performed without any trouble. One show had a brief "intermission" due to a flash rain shower, but we were able to quickly resume and regather most of the audience.

Katie has also become a more intricate part of the program performing her own dance piece, participating in a "stomp" percussion routine with the rest of the group and joining Dustin on the 6ft. unicycle. We don't have a good picture of this last one yet but when we do we'll post it for you. Basically Katie makes her entrance onto stage during the routine, hops onto the peg attached to the axle of the 6ft unicycle and hold's Dustin's outstretched arm. We do a couple circles then Katie jumps off and makes her exit. We look forward to developing this part of the show more.

We are so thankful for both our local organizers and the municipality of each city for their generous and thoughtful planning and provision to make these events happen. We know that many new relationships have been built, seeds have been planted and resulting fruit will no doubt grow for years to come.

We have had a show every day since our arrival in Bulgaria. The mayors of the Kardzali province have sponsored shows in each of the main cities, generously covering our meals and lodging. We have met personally with several of the mayors who have been very hospitable. Remarkably, they have welcomed our performance and message of Hope. We feel privileged to be the first to bring a show of this kind to these nearly 100% Muslim areas.

During the first show, Dustin went through one of the steps on the stairs that had been built for him. After minor repairs he now has a great set to play on.

Our first show was part of a 50 year celebration of the city; several other shows have been in conjunction with the traveling market. Our local organizers have been extremely helpful and thorough in their preparation and care for us and we are so grateful to be working with them.

Our 10 days in Lebanon were much different than we had anticipated. We performed only 4 small, organized events among the "Christian" areas of Lebanon and did 3 spontaneous street shows in a Muslim area by the seaside. These last 3 shows were a highlight of our tour as we drew quite a crowd and shared the message of Hope with the many relaxing by the sea. We connected and prayed with several people individually and hope to stay in touch with some.

Because our performance schedule was not as full as we would have liked, our team spent extra time in meaningful Bible study and prayer for the unreached countries of the world.

Our principal transportation was probably the most unsafe vehicle we have ridden in anywhere in the world. The outside of the vehicle had no mirrors and no working tail-lights. Inside, only the driver had a seatbelt and none of the back seats were secured, resulting in everyone sliding around on all the mountain switchbacks that we drove every time we went to town. In spite of this, God kept us safe through a tire blow out, running out of gas and a broken accelerator cable.

Beirut Lebanon

Here in Lebanon we are staying in the beautiful mountains overlooking the city of Beirut. Most of Lebanon is mountainous and we've spent much time driving in a retro VW van up and down and all around, to Beirut and other mountain towns.

It took us three days, but we found a skilled carpenter who built Dustin some great and sturdy boxes for the show. So far we have had 3 small shows, one in The Cedars area, in the highest point in Lebanon. We are enjoying the delicious tastes of Lebanese food and praying that the few seeds we have had the opportunity to plant will produce lasting fruit.

Closed and Open Doors

Though we had planned on driving to Iraq from Diyarbakir, our tour organizers determined at the last minute that it wouldn't be wise to go for a number of reasons. Instead we headed west to Iskenderun for 2 shows. We drove into town, picked a seaside park and quickly drew a crowd even during our rehearsing and warm-up.

Local believers graciously opened their homes to us and welcomed us to their church service the next morning. One lady had prayed that God would bring more people to their church that Sunday to worship with them. We were God's answer to her prayer!

On Sunday we had a short drive to Mersin, so we beat the ever-present heat that afternoon at an air conditioned mall with a Starbucks. God's refreshment comes in various forms! :)

We did 2 more shows in Mersin this 2nd visit. Dustin was able to share the Gospel very openly. We noticed a young lady at the front of the audience totally engrossed in the whole show. Her face was beautiful and full of emotion as she heard the Gospel and saw it being acted out. God was definitely stirring her. Ashley and Katie had the opportunity to share with her more after the show about who Jesus is. We gave her a Turkish Bible which she voluntarily proudly displayed for a photo. She will be receiving further resources and encouragement from other believers. It was so exciting to introduce this young lady to the One she seeks Who is seeking her!

We know that well over 1,000 Turks on this tour have been introduced to Jesus and have the opportunity to learn more. We pray these planted seeds will take deep and lasting root.

Diyarbakir Province- Turkey

From Mersin, we headed east to Diyarbakir. We stayed for several days in the local church right across the alley from a 1st Century BC ancient Orthodox Church. Our first show in the area was in Hazro. We started the show with fireworks and had a good crowd. Many DVD's with a powerful message were distributed and we know that God touched hearts in young and old alike!

In Diyarbakir we performed 2 nights in a community park plaza. These were tough shows with a very enthusiastic audience. The police were very helpful creating rope and physical barriers. Our second show was especially challenging with people from the crowd continually throwing water bottles and caps, soda cans, keys, metal game pieces, pebbles, dirt and fireworks onto the stage (no rotten tomatoes!). In spite of the opposition from a small part of the audience, we received many surveys after each show with people wanting more information about the message of Hope we shared.

Truckin' along in Turkey

Our Turkey tour has continued east. After Kusadasi, we parked in Antalya for several days. It was cooking here with temps well over 100F (40C). God blessed us with AC and a pool at our nice accommodations. We stayed and performed in the old city near the harbor where Paul and Barnabas sailed from to Antioch. (Acts. 14:25-26).

We performed 2 nights during Antalya's Ramadan Festival at a seaside park. We had a very enthusiastic and loyal crowd who even silenced a protester who shouted that we had no right to come during Ramadan and tell them how to know God better. The rest of the crowd said he was acting shamefully and cheered for us to continue our program. After the events we had many meaningful talks with people wanting to know more of our message of Love, Hope and Life.

We traveled 11.5 hours from Antalya straight to Atatürk Park in Mersin. Though hot and tired, we did 2 simple shows by the seaside, working alongside a handful of local believers. We connected with many in the audience for future follow-up.

God is at work in exciting ways. Thanks for partnering with us.

On the road again in Turkey

We left Istanbul Turkey and headed south. Our first shows were in a plaza outside the largest shopping mall in Bursa (population 2.5 million).We had 2 great shows, very well attended and our trial run of the different performance elements (music, dance, drama, unicycling and fire poi) flowed surprisingly well. We had lots of good talks with people after each show and got contact info for follow-up from many more.

Next we performed in Izmir , in a park, on top of a fountain. The fountain had just been turned off so it took us a while to dry it with fans, brooms and squeegees. It turned out to be a nice venue even though we were still surrounded by water and had a water and pipe filled hole in the middle of the stage.

The touristy city of Kusadasi was our next stop with a 10p show on the seaside at the Peace and Friendship Square. Dustin shared that because of God's love for us we can have a friendship with Him that will bring peace to our lives.

We have been challenged on this tour to make the most of every opportunity to share Christ. Thus, at a gas station enroute to Antalya, Dustin pulled out a unicycle and did a demonstration for the employees and we gave them Dustin's cards with his testimony written in Turkish.

Thanks for praying with us during this journey. God is at work and we are humbled to be part of it.

Aqua Club Dolphin

We arrived in Istanbul Turkey on August 11th just in time to eat, sleep and assemble unicycles before heading 2+ hours across town to the Aqua Club Dolphin water park for shows on Thursday and Saturday. After the dolphin show finished we cranked up our music and took the stage. Dustin rode and shared Jesus with the swimmers. Surveys were handed out and we received many requests for more information about what we had shared. This venue was a treat because after sweating in the hot sun both afternoons, we too were able to dive in and enjoy the pools and water slides. Good times all around!

Swiss Bliss

The 44^th Montreux Jazz Festival on Lake Geneva has come to an end. Dustin performed several times each evening during our 10 day outreach with YWAM Lausanne. His finger is healing nicely (praise the Lord) and didn’t hold him back for long.

The Gospel was shared at each presentation by Dustin and Heartbridge (YWAM Kona Hawaii’s Creative Outreach). Even though the audience was very fluid during this type of outreach, we know many heard the clear message that Jesus saves and brings hope. We had the opportunity to pray with people after the events, many on holiday from the Middle East. Katie connected with a local Christian girl who was a God-send and provided translation as they together talked and prayed with people.

As we were loading the van one evening, someone was holding Dustin's 10 foot uni straight up in the air preparing to load it when a couple young local unicyclists rode by! Needless to say, they excitedly came over and through translation, visited with Dustin. They came back to the festival several evenings following to show their amazing trials skills and watch and hear Dustin in action.

Please pray with us for all the seeds that were planted among the large audiences and the individuals with whom we shared Jesus. We pray He will take these seeds and multiply and grow them!

What a treat to work with YWAM Lausanne again! Their hospitality, love and passion for Jesus, encouragement and inspiration is some of the finest around. We felt like we were serving with family. Thanks God and YWAM for another great Regeneration 2010.

For the love of Switzerland

Due to God's great provision, we are in Switzerland again for Regeneration 2010 at the Lausanne YWAM base doing outreaches at the 44th Montreux Jazz Festival. Beginning July 7, each evening we have performed and shared Jesus in Montreux on the promanade of Lake Geneva along a mile stretch of vendors and various activities. We are sharing the stage with Heartbridge from YWAM Kona Hawaii for an exciting evening of eye-catching entertainment with a purpose.

During Dustin's act on Saturday, he caught his finger between the chain and chain ring on his 6 ft. unicycle. Even with gloves on it was a bloody mess yet after a quick wrap with duct tape and through God's strength, he was able to finish the show and still powerfully share the gospel message to the large crowd gathered.

The vendors near our performance area along Lake Geneva have to endure our crowds and music each evening. Dustin felt led to build better relationships with our “neighbors” and after set up one evening, before the rest of the team arrived, had the caricature artist sketch him, and the hair braiding ladies braid his beard. During the shows from then on, he told the audience that he wasn’t going to pass a hat after his performance but if people really wanted to give, to give to our neighboring vendors and he thanked the vendors for putting up with us.

It was encouraging for the whole team to later find out that, unbeknownst to Dustin, the YWAM leadership prayer meeting that very morning had sensed that God wanted someone to get their picture drawn by the caricature artist and promote and thank them during the shows. God is moving and speaking!

Portland - "The friendliest big little city in America"

Faith Bible Christian School in Portland, Oregon hosted the UniShow for their Elementary and Secondary School chapels.

The students were very attentive and responsive. Many approached us after the shows sharing how thankful they were that we came and stating how much they got out of it. One student said, "Dustin is the real deal." We found out later that the two students that Dustin randomly choose as volunteers to try out the unicycle at the beginning of the first show were the children of Andrew Palau and Kevin Palau.

Since we were in the neighborhood, we stopped by the Luis Palau Ministries office. It was great to reconnect with our Palau Ministries coordinator that we worked with in Jamaica earlier this year.

School Assemblies Continue

Our most recent school assembly in Eugene Oregon was at McCornack Elementary. The students from the resident unicycle club were announced and rode briefly before they introduced Dustin and the UniShow.

The students were very responsive and enthusiastic throughout the assembly and we received lots of great feedback from teachers following the presentation. One teacher had this to say, "inspiring- engaging- Dustin's personality really made it successful- the pacing of his words, content of his message, his lovely expressions and arm movements made it enticing- he knows how to captivate the audience- great music accompanied his performance- there wasn't a person in the gym that was bored or wanted the performance to be over..... timeless and refreshing performance by a believable person who genuinely enjoyed what he was doing- extremely inspiring to kids and adults- would love to have him back again..." Dustin also received a record number of hugs following his performance from very awe inspired students.

Mapleton Schools

We had the opportunity to return to Mapleton Schools in the coastal mountains of Oregon. Dustin performed the UniShow for the elementary school first. He encouraged them to press on even when things get tough and to step out and do challenging things that can make a difference in the world.

Immediately following the elementary assembly we shared the UniShow with the junior and senior high. A high school student from a nearby school tragically died the previous week. Dustin gave a timely challenge to make their lives count because we never know how much time we have to make a lasting impact.

It is fun to have family in the area who are very willing to lend a helping hand with set up and tear down. We still have more school assemblies in the area with opportunities to inspire students during the last days of the school year. Thanks for praying for the influence we will have on these students!

River Rock Church

The UniShow was the feature of the Sunday morning service at River Rock Church which meets at Chatfield Elementary in Belle Plaine MN.

Dustin gave a powerful Gospel message and at least 10 responded to Jesus for the first time. It was neat to have an event just a half hour drive away from our home base and minister to this little-reached city where statistics show that only 2% of the local population go to church. Many people invited family and friends. Please pray for the seeds to take root and be watered!

This show marked the initiation of Dustin's new Nimbus Ti titanium trials unicycle (courtesy of Unicycle.com) which worked beautifully and will be a nice addition to his collection.

Aboard the Logos Hope

As soon as we discovered Operation Mobilization’s Logos Hope ship was going to be in Kingston Jamaica at the same time we were, we made arrangements to jump on board. They happened to be sailing to Nassau Bahamas the day after our team from Grace flew back to MN from Jamaica so the timing was perfect.

Our goal was to personally experience the ships ministry in order to communicate and promote it to others. We worked in the galley, the book hold and the book fair, getting a taste of regular ship’s crew life.

We also had opportunities to share the ministry of OM Arts International. Dustin braved the slick and windy outdoor Deck 9 in the middle of the Caribbean Sea, performing for and encouraging the crew during our 4 day sail from Kingston to Nassau. Dustin led the drama group’s weekly session and Katie met with the dancers to share her experience dancing in 10 countries. Once in the Bahamas, we both rode unis in a parade through downtown Nassau during the ship’s official opening ceremonies. Dustin was preshow entertainment for 2 cultural hours in the ship’s Hope Theatre for visiting locals. We also rode unis around town with other ship’s riders and enjoyed connecting with them in this way.

This was our first sailing experience and once we got past the first day of wooziness due to rough water, we fared well and thoroughly enjoyed our experience on board. It was great to connect with over 400 OMers on board and see how they use the “World’s Largest Floating Book Fair” to share Jesus in the world’s ports and beyond.

Fun in the Son

The Fun in the Son Festival on Saturday was quite an event. It was a beautiful hot and sunny day and by the end the expected number of 30,000 people had filled the grounds of Jamaica College. Dustin did a show and presented the Gospel in the Kids Zone in the afternoon and many accepted Christ. Early evening he rode and shared again on main stage for a very enthusiastic crowd. After 4 TV interviews, he joined the rest of our team and 700 other volunteers (all wearing bright yellow t-shirts and caps) as we prepared to pray with people in the crowd after Andrew Palau spoke and shared the Gospel. I’m not sure how many thousands of people responded but many received Jesus that night!

Broadcasting the King of Kings in Kingston Jamaica

Our week in Kingston Jamaica preceding the Fun in the Son Festival was packed with school events for audiences numbering from 25 to 1,600. Even the public schools in Jamaica hold regular devotions in the morning before the school day begins. Each morning our team from Grace Church working under the Palau Organization divided into three groups and shared the Gospel through different means at different schools. Most afternoons we partnered with Child Evangelism Fellowship and met with smaller groups at “Backyard Clubs” sharing our songs, activities and unicycling with the students. We had a great response from students and hundreds received Christ. Even parents who were dropping off their students lingered and some prayed with us and accepted Jesus as their Saviour.

Many of the students immediately asked us if we were with the “Book Ship”. We had to tell them we were not but would be sailing with them in a week. 19,000 students had been on board during the past few weeks the Logos Hope had been in Kingston port. We realized the ministry of OM’s Logos Hope had been instrumental in sowing the seeds and preparing the kids to receive Jesus so readily during our assemblies.

Make it Count!

Once again we joined the fun of Youth Quake at Briercrest College in Caronport, Saskatchewan. Dustin performed 3 full shows throughout the weekend for several thousand high school students in attendance. Along with other great speakers and bands, Dustin powerfully challenged the students to "Make it Count", the theme of the conference. We had many meaningful conversations with students whom had been impacted by Dustin's story and message. Pray with us for the many hurting youth in today's world.

Briercrest took great care of us and we had very capable help which made things go smoothly. We always appreciate their Godly focus and true desire to make everything count and not just entertain kids with flashy hype alone.

Nairobi and beyond!

During our busy week of outreach in Nairobi Kenya and surrounding areas, we presented at 7 schools, 4 city-wide festivals, 3 church services, 1 prison, 1 meat factory and 1 job search area to a total of nearly 21,000 people. We got to pray with lots of people, both to receive Jesus and for their needs.

Our team partnered with the Huduma Church in the Kawangware slum and Athi River First Baptist Church to share Jesus through food distribution, carpentry and dressmaking workshops, children's VBS, choir and unicycling performances, medical clinics and door to door outreach.

It was sobering to see the conditions these Kenyan's live in, yet exciting to see their enthusiastic and heartfelt response to the truth that Jesus saves! Thanks for praying!

Hello Nairobi!

After 20 hours of smooth travel, we arrived safely in Nairobi Kenya. We were able to arrive a few days ahead of the larger group of 60 (who is arriving tomorrow) in order to get acclimated and briefed for the busy week of performance ministry ahead.

We've had a few leadership team meetings and meals and took a tour of one of the venues we will be working at later in the week: a school for 1,200 students, run by our partner church here. We were there at the end of the school day and gave out a thousand high-fives and handshakes to precious children.

We are excited about the opportunities to share Jesus with the people of Nairobi. Looks like it will be a good and full week! Thanks for your prayers!

The festival in the Middle East was great! God was present and used 1,000 volunteers powerfully to share Jesus with the 15,000 in attendance and thousands came to Christ. It was a privilege to be a small part of what the local church is doing to share the gospel.

It was fun to work with our friends that skate board, perform extreme feats of strength, perform martial arts stunts, and others from last year. We all performed together again on the tennis court (you can see the treatment center in the background - the largest in the middle east, run by the church) and prayed for people after each event several times a day.

Thanks for your prayers for an effective outreach. Keep on praying for growth and protection of the many new believers.

Big Stone Triangles

The culture is fascinating. The people are beautiful, the food is rich, the salesmen are aggressive and the sites are breathtaking. We played a bit of tourist this year before heading to the conference center where our 3 day festival will take place for over 20,000 people.

Our experiences included: a beautiful view of the river from our hotel balcony, a cave church, Garbage City (a community of 4,000 where they hand process all the garbage from one of the largest cities in the world, brought to them in huge bags by the truck load), several churches where Jesus and His parents are believed to have stayed while seeking refuge, a Nile river dinner sail, a museum with real mummies, a camel ride and of course the pyramids and the Sphinx.

It is amazing the extent these brilliant ancient people went to for a dead-end, empty religion. And just think…a pyramid is smaller than a speck compared to God!

On our trip to the middle east we had an 10 hr. layover in Amsterdam. Our team of 9 took the train to Zaanse Schans for a real Dutch experience. We saw windmills, crazy wooden shoes and had some delicious pannekoeken. Though a bit sleep deprived, we had a great time in beautiful Holland

. At the airport Dustin and Justin (the illusionist on our team) and Dave Gibson (our missions pastor) shared their testimony, some tricks and the gospel with 2 Japanese business men. Pray for their salvation!

Events in Minnesota

The second week of November Dustin spoke for Southwest Christian High School Chapel. The Seniors were about to leave on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic so it was a great opportunity for him to challenge them to step outside of their boxes and boldly share Jesus.

We also participated in Grace Church's 5-6th grade Burger Bash again. It is always a treat to see the kids from our own church enthusiastically bringing friends they want to introduce to Jesus. We know that many prayed to receive Christ after Dustin's performance.

Our week ended with a performance at the Christian Community Fair at the River Centre in St. Paul, the day before leaving for Egypt. We had a good crowd and made many good connections for future events. It was fun to connect with our friends from JSAW who had been key in introducing us to this Fair. Dustin was excited to see his favorite bird (eagle) and Katie her favorite animal (camel) there.

Adios for now TACO

All the Krispy Kreme's have closed in Minnesota but we found a new one in Istanbul. On our last night in Turkey, we drowned our sorrows of leaving West and Central Asia by eating doughnuts on the seaside.

On October 17 we said our goodbyes to our TACO friends and headed back to the states. First, however, Dustin had to sign a few autographs at the Ataturk International Airport for the security guards. Our cards with Dustin's picture and testimony in Turkish come in handy for situations like this.

Lord willing we will be back with TACO again next year for more Great Commission adventures.

Last sights in Eastern Turkey

In between disassembling our unicycles and packing up our tour life to return back to Minnesota, we hit the town and mingled with the locals in Eastern Turkey. We snapped some rare shots of women, who are just not out in public much.

We met a gentleman named, Hank who was visiting Diyarbakir from Holland. We had dessert with him and shared the gospel. He is a self-proclaimed atheist but we pray God will be at work in him through the things we shared and the books we left with him.

To Iraq and Back

Iraq has been our most adventurous and interesting country visit so far! Summing up all we saw and experienced is impossible. A few pictures and videos will hopefully help to share a taste.

We entered the country without much of a set schedule. Basically the organizers didn't take us seriously until they saw the whites of our eyes. Once we arrived in Duhok, however, things were set in motion. A nice hotel and all meals were provided for us by the president of the city and a wealthy business man. They kept us busy with newspaper and TV interviews and promotion, banners, armed security and transportation, plaques and presentations.

We had 2 events in Erbil. One for 1,000 students and another in a city park. Our Duhok event was in the city center and open to all, but surprisingly the entire audience of 1,500 was male.

Over and over again the municipality and other locals told us that nothing like our program of illusions, unicycling and dance had ever come there before and they were so thankful. We were able to share openly and thousands heard good news.

We have had to show our passports more times than we can count in the past few days. Our government escorts (that liked to drive in the 100+ MPH range) helped greatly at the numerous, heavily armed Iraqi military check points along the roads. A special letter from the president of Duhok helped cut in half our border crossing back to Turkey. It still took us 3 hours but we had military escorting us to the front of every line. They are extremely thorough and scan and search everything in, on and under the vehicles.

It was definitely a ground breaking trip and we hope to return in the future.

Unicycling where Thomas walked

We have done 3 shows in and around Diyarbakir in eastern Turkey. There is amazing history here. Doubting Thomas was here. People also believe the Garden of Eden and Noah's ark and tomb are in this neck of the woods.

We are staying right across the alley from Syrian Virgin Mary Catholic Church whose building was a temple before Christ! There is a city wall that totally surrounds the city center, some think it's as old as 3000 BC and is the second longest wall in the world. We took a walk in and along it as we awaited our transportation to Iraq. It was mostly stable and we saw a lady making tomato paste in mass quantities.

During the shows here, the crowds have literally gone wild. Many surveys have been turned in after the events and will aid in follow-up for people interested in learning more about the faith we have shared.

We have another show in Eastern Turkey following our events in Iraq. Thanks for your prayers for our boarder crossings and effective events.

After a quick preshow 6 ft. unicycle ride and flyer distribution on the street, we began our show in Antakya (Antioch) at the Orthodox Church. Dustin and Craig, the illusionist, were both able to share a clear and direct Gospel message to several hundred people. Surveys were handed out following the event and many indicated interest in learning more about Jesus!

Next we had a "spontaneous" event in Gaziantep, in partnership with a local church. We hauled 5 unicycles and illusions out to a crowded skate park and soon 500 curious spectators gathered to be entertained. Dustin wowed them with unicycles and Craig with illusions. The police showed up...and helped out with crowd control! We then walked to a nearby plaza, followed by an organized mob. There Dustin shared his testimony and the Gospel while on his 6 ft. uni. We handed out cards with the Gospel and many read them intently. It was a great and surprising response and many heard the truth for the first time.

The Mavi Seker Show

Our first event this Turkey tour was on the Mavi Seker (Blue Candy) TV Show. It was a crazy whirlwind to try to understand what exactly was going to happen on this spontaneous show. Dustin was able to share briefly about how God is the only One who can fill the emptiness in our lives. At their request he jumped 2 people at once: a first for him and on live national Turkish television, nonetheless. He shared the show with a couple of body builders and some other singers and dancers.

Dustin was already recognized on the streets in Istanbul later the same day as we were walking to dinner. This was an opportunity to share more.

Today we fly to Antakya (formerly Antioch) where we will continue our tour in the eastern part of Turkey.

Wrapping it up in Kyrgyzstan

Our tour in Kyrgyzstan ended with Dustin rocking downtown Bishkek during a mountain bike competition. Thousands attended to watch the competition and stayed for the UniShow intermission. After the program Dustin did three interviews for different TV programs. The day before, we performed at a juvenile prison and could be totally open about God. Dustin and Adam gave the guys a great challenge about their value in God's eyes and shared the prodigal son story. When we were on our way home we were told there had been a murder in the prison just days before.

We pray for the seeds that were planted on this tour in the Muslim school, Christian school, parks, street, university, prison and bike event. Many signed up for Correspondence Courses and will begin their faith journey.

We made it to Kyrgyzstan last week...what an adventure. Two of our team members were literally stuck between the border of Kazakstan and Kyrgyzstan for about 6 hrs while they got a visa mix up all sorted out.

Dustin spent a day doing newspaper and radio interviews. We've done 4 events here in Kyrgyzstan. One was in the midst of a dust storm. The unicycling continued but the band had to pack it up.

Dustin's knees are hurting, but they aren't swollen so we are counting that as a blessing. Thanks for all the prayers.

Our time is coming to an end in Kazahkstan. We've had some great opportunities to share in schools, an orphanage, universities, three prisons and at a church in a village outside Shymkent. We have one more school program this afternoon then we pack up quickly and jump on an overnight bus (12-15hrs) to Kyrgyzstan. Please pray for our border crossing and safe travels on the roads. Between us and the band we have a LOT of equipment for five "tourists". There is potential for difficulty at the border.

Travelling on the roads is probably the most dangerous thing we face in this part of the world. Thanks for all your prayers and support. We'll be returning to Istanbul on Sept. 28th.

Today we were taken to prison and released again after doing a concert and UniShow performance for about 200 prisoners at prison just outside Shymkent. We were able to share quite openly compared to other events in the area, but we were not allowed to have much direct contact with prisoners. We will be going to three more prisons before we leave for Kyrgyzstan early next week.

Please be lifting up these events in the prisons that many will see and hear the hope that we have to share. Please lift up our travel to Kyrgyzstan as well...there has been some confusion over visa requirements and we want all of our team to be able to continue the trip! Thank you for all your support!

From Central Asia

The great knee expiriment has begun. Yesterday we had our first full

presentation since August 8. Today Dustin is still operating with a full

range of motion and no swelling. The only problem for Dustin this

morning is a little rumbly tummy.

For our first program we had a great time connecting with students at the

World Language Academy here in Shymkent (pop. guesstimate 700,000)

Kazahkstan. We thought this was going to be an open event until half an

hour before start time...the school administrator received a phone call

from the local authorities (formerly known and still referred to by three

letters in this part of the world, they still exist and cause a lot of

anxiety). Despite being a closed program we still had opportunities to

share with students that came up and asked questions after the program.

We had a full schedule of events in many public venues. Today we were

supposed to do two programs at one of the largest venues in town but due

to pressure from previously mentioned athourities this venue has

cancelled. Many other venues have cancelled for the same reason. Our

hosts were able to quickly arrange an alternative event at an orphanage

today.

Please lift up the programs here that venues would not be intimidated to

cancel legal events.

Five Flights to Kazakhstan

We are settling in Shimkent Kazakhstan after having finished two great weeks at the GO Conference in Holland. In two and a half days, we traveled by bus from Delden Holland to Amsterdam, then flew to London England, Istanbul Turkey, Atryau, Almaty and Shimkent Kazakhstan.

Looks like we have many great events lined up here at prisons, parks, a rehab center and other locations. Please pray for hearts to receive the message of hope and that we wouldn't have any trouble.

The Goings on of the GO Conference

Things are going very well at the GO Conference and we are thoroughly enjoying meeting and connecting with new and old OMers and networking for future outreach opportunities around the world. It is exciting to be with 450 other OMers, 250 of them brand new and just heading off to new fields.

As usual, we are in a different category then most and never have an easy answer for the common questions floating around a conference like this. Where do you come from? Where are you going? Common answers to the latter are: Bosnia, the Ships, Chili, Nepal, etc. We, on the other hand, have a bit longer answer that goes something like this: "We are from and based in the states, but go...everywhere. We have actually been with OM for a year now. We work under OM Arts and have a performance based outreach where we travel the world using the unicycle as a tool to share Christ." And then we have to explain how that works.

We had a spontaneous blessing yesterday. Some of the leaders we just met asked us to be one of the prayer stations during the night of prayer. Everyone went from station to station to learn about a ministry field and pray for them. Dustin shared a bit of unicycling and about our ministry and then people prayed for us. We did this 4 times as groups came and went. It was special to receive prayer and share about OM Arts, offer ourselves as resources to other fields and inspire young missionaires to explore creative ways God can use them.

We were blessed to spend our time between TeenStreet and the GO Conference with our friends, the Sachs Family, just outside Stuttgart Germany. They welcomed us into their home and made us feel like family. We had an opportunity to share with their church about our ministry with OM Arts. The church blessed us very generously and we are so thankful for their partnership with us.

After a 7 hour train ride on August 19 from the Sachs in Germany to Delden Holland, we arrived at de Kroeze Danne for the GO Conference. We were greeted immediately with the words, "Your passports are here!" Whew! We are praising the Lord, especially after we found Kazakhstan Visas inside!! God is good!

Day trip to Frankfurt for Kazak visas

Well, after a several hundred dollar day trip to the Consulate of Kazakhstan in Frankfurt Germany for our visas we have no feeling of satisfaction, no visas and now no passports.

From everything we read online, getting a Kazakh visa in Germany requires a personal visit to a consulate. So, on August 13 we left Sharnhauser Park at 5:19a to get to the consulate in Frankfurt before they opened at 9a. About 20 other people had the same idea, and we all gathered to wait for the gate to open.

Once entering, we stood in one of the lines and upon arriving at service window A we were directed to the back of the line at window B. We waited in line again and upon arrival at window B the person could not understand English (we don't know German or Russian) so we ended up being helped by the person from window A because they knew English and weren't helping anyone. Once we turned in our paperwork they said "Thank you, come back in 7 days." It took some time to help them understand that we could not return on the 20th of August to pick up our visas since we were leaving the country for Holland on the 18th of August. In the end, we had to go to the post office to get a postage paid envelope to leave at the consulate so they can send us our documents in Holland.

Please pray with us that our visa applications will be accepted and that our documents will find us safely and quickly in the mail!

Despite our disappointment about the wait for getting our visas, we still saw some neat old buildings and the European Central Bank in Frankfurt and had a pretty good day.

"Now this is TeenStreet"

We ended the week of TeenStreet with a UniShow. We had a great turn out with the show in the round and multi-level. It was great to be able to challenge so many students at once and show those who worked so hard in the workshops how God can use their unicycling, or any other gift God has given them.

After the program on Friday we connected with OM leaders from other countries who are interested in having us come to minister with them. One comment we heard about the UniShow afterward was, "Now this is TeenStreet!"

We are so thankful for our superstar leaders, Ewout, Ali and Gideon who set up the workshops and fully organized this last event. They were very thoughtful and thorough and helpful each step of the way and we wouldn't have made it through the week without them!

But wait...there's more (unicycles)!

Even after Dustin converted his double wheel into a freestyle unicycle, we realized four standard unicycles were not enough for all the interest we had in the workshops. We decided to order four more cycles from Unicycle.com Germany. The shipment arrived just in time for our Wednesday workshop and once we assembled the new ones, all 8 unicycles were in constant use. We hope to sell a few of the newly purchased ones before we leave here.

We will have a UniShow performance Friday night to cap off the week. Please pray that through Dustin's testimony and message many students will be challenged.

Workshops and Playshops

We continue the daily workshops for students at TeenStreet. The workshop is supposed to be from 2:15p to 3:30p. However, each day the steady stream of students have kept the unicycles in use until 6p when we finally have to put them away so we can eat dinner. It has been fun to see kids come back determined each day and make progress.

A few Swiss students brought their unicycles with them and have had fun playing on the structures with Dustin. One of the guys broke off his seat in the process but that didn't keep Dustin from riding it.

iMpossible...or not?

Dustin had a brief appearance in the main session, called iMpossible because that is this year's theme based on Hebrews 11:6. He rode up and down the bleacher stairs as part of an illustration of what one might consider impossible to do. After that he rode an inverted table down the stairs with a couple other guys. He is in the crowd picture in the middle where the spotlight is...just trust me, he really is there!

Each session is spoken in English and translated from stage into German and into 11 more languages transmitted to wireless headsets. You can see the interpreters hard at work back stage in their cubicles.

Dustin was also featured in the Monday newsletter, also translated into many languages (click on the picture below to read the article). It doesn't take much to be a teenagers hero. Just be a world champion unicyclist, for example, and get a little publicity. He is getting more popular around here by the day and he's using it to encourage kids and challenge them in their walk with Jesus.

TeenStreet Begins

Today was the first official day of TeenStreet Germany 2009. The convention center grounds are full of excited and energetic teenagers and it is beautiful!

We did our first workshop today with a limited number of unicycles thus a limited number of students. A few kids brought their own unis and had some fun honing their skills while the others persevered through the beginning wobbles of their first rides. Dustin shared his testimony with them and gave them a taste of what unicycling looks like after 27 years of riding to inspire them.

At the worship service tonight it was neat to see the students expressing their love for God in creative ways.

Our Introduction to OM TeenStreet

After our traditional all-nighter of packing, we hit the airport again to head back to Europe. We flew from Minneapolis through Reykjavik, Iceland to Frankfurt, Germany, drove 2 hours to Offenburg where we are now, preparing for 8 days of an Operation Mobilization Youth Conference called TeenStreet. The students get here on Saturday so we have a day to prepare and get over jet lag before the real craze begins and the population increases by 3,500.

After we were dropped off with our luggage in the big empty convention center, it took us a while to find someone who was expecting us. Once we found the right people we were quickly welcomed and directed. We are all settled at our accommodations in cubical #21, set up back stage of the main hall. Should be an interesting and great week ahead!

We even had time today for a coffee break with some of the leaders who are camping on the grounds. We had cake and Dustin and I ate it in honor of my mother's birthday, today! Happy Birthday, Mom!

Rapidly Rushing

We joined the YMCA, First Assembly and other churches in Rapid City SD for a community party at Star Village. The UniShow along with inflatables, face painting and free dinner drew many from the neighborhood. It was fun to partner again with our friend Shawn Hayford who works with the YMCA and runs the unicycle club.

We felt much spiritual opposition as Dustin shared the Gospel in this community known for strong gang presence. He had an unusually up front and personal audience with children spontaneously sharing the "stage" throughout the performance. In the toasty heat of this summer evening, many families heard the truth that we are all sinners in need of forgiveness that God freely offers to those who believe in Him.

Before heading home we decided to be tourists for a day and swing by Mt. Rushmore. We were struck all over again by the powerful history represented in this great and impressive monument. Pretty amazing stuff!

Let the Sonshine

On the last day of Sonshine Music Festival in Willmar MN, we did two performances of the UniShow. It was an unusually cold, overcast July day, but the rain held off and the crowds were drawn. Over the earthshaking beat of bands rockin' at other stages, Dustin boldly shared Christ and challenged Christians to use what they have to serve and surrender ALL to God.

People said they thought they were just going to be entertained but were surprised to hear a great message, as well.

Sights from Switzerland, Updates from Spain

It was wonderful to partner with our new YWAM friends at the Montreux Jazz Festival for these 12 events. The YWAM tent has quite a reputation here at the festival and many annual attenders come year after year to watch the quality entertainment and receive seeds of the Gospel. We heard of one man who learned about Jesus from the YWAM team at the Festival one year. It stuck with him and he thought about it all year. He came back the following year and gave his life to Christ! We have no idea how God is at work!

Dustin had several meaningful conversations with Nasar from Oman, pictured here. He is in our prayers!

Our last night in Switzerland ended quite spectacularly with a thunder and lightening show while Dustin was finishing up on the 10 footer, followed by a gigantic, nearly frightening hail storm as we madly packed up and headed for cover.

We got a report from the group we worked with in Baeza Spain that ten people have prayed to received Christ through the events of the Bible Festival and they have over 100 addresses for follow up. This town of 16,000 people which had no Christians at the beginning of July, now has a handful of baby believers in Jesus and we pray a church will come from this fruit. Please continue to pray for all these new believers and for those who heard the truth but have yet to respond!

Switzerland - Jazz and Unicycles

Our ministry at the 27th annual Montreux Jazz Festival continues. We have had a great stay at the very first YWAM base ever established and have thoroughly enjoyed partnering with the team here.

We have one more night of outreach before we pack up and fly back home tomorrow morning. Each evening Dustin has drawn large crowds during his 2 or 3 shows. Though the audience is fluid, most people have stayed to listen to Dustin's testimony and the gospel he shares in between his riding. We know many seeds are being planted and God's Word will not return void. We have had many great conversations with people after the shows with people searching for the truth. We pray that God will keep working in thier lives until they surrender to Him!

Even when Dustin is not performing and all the unicycles are lined up, it is amazing how many people will stop and look at them and take pictures. This gives us the opportunity to talk with them and give them a card with Dustin's picture and testimony.

Spain to Switzerland in one piece (or six)

Sadly our time in Spain has come to an end. Many seeds have been planted and the Bible Festival continues. Please keep praying for those who are continuing the work in Baeza. Pray for a new generation to rise up in Spain that will be changed by the Gospel and not be afraid to proclaim it!

After our day trip from Baeza to Madrid we spent the evening on a whirlwind tour of the central city in Spain. Part of that tour involved a stop at the apartment building in Madrid where Katie's parents lived as missionaries about 35 years ago! 24hrs later we were staying in a YWAM building at the base in Lausanne, Switzerland (with all 6 pieces of our luggage!)...we soon figured out that this was the same building where Katie's parents had lived and trained with YWAM in 1972! How exciting to trace our heritage on this trip.

Last night Dustin did three presentations and shared Christ with hundreds on the shores of Lake Geneva during the Montreux Jazz Festival. We will be repeating this schedule nightly for the next 4 nights. We have already heard many testimonies of lives that were impacted through Dustin's presentation last night. Please continue to pray for Dustin's strength, knees and clarity in the message the Lord gives him.

Espana

Hey everyone. We finally have an internet connection tonight... We made it to Spain safe and sound. Five of our Six pieces of luggage made it and after many phone calls and some compromises with the shipping company on the ground our last piece of luggage arrived just in time to get set up for our first program.

We are involved in a Bible Festival campaign in Baeza about 4 hours south of Madrid. Baeza is a small Pueblo of 16,000 that has no evangelical Christian presence. There are no believers and no church except for a small group of faithful missionaries who have moved here recently to bring Christ to the local people. We are praying that the Lord will sow seeds of change through this campaign. Our first performance Saturday night was in the main Plaza in the center of town. Our organizers hoped for 50 people in the audience and we ended up with nearly 200. Word got out and the next night we had about 450 present.

Please pray that many will attend the events in the next few days and that many will be open to hearing the Gospel for the first time. Also pray for Dustin's knees. His right knee is swollen and he's experiencing some limited range of motion.

Thanks for all the prayers and support! This is a beautiful country with amazing people, ancient architecture, and endless olive groves.

Favored Nation

It was a privilege to be part of Ken Parker's, Christian Arts Ministries patriotic musical called Favored Nation. Dustin commanded the stage during his act as John Hancock and Katie danced in scenes throughout the production.

Ninety-five percent of the script was the actual words of our Founding Fathers and showed their dependence upon God in making the important decisions of our countries beginning. It was a refreshing yet sobering look at our countries heritage, though magnified how far we have strayed from the Truth of God that was once commonly accepted.

There were two lines in the production that really impacted Dustin. First was one of his own lines as John Hancock: "...our confidence must not be in the Means we use; but must repose only in that GOD who rules the Armies of Heaven, and without whose Blessing the best human Counsels are but Foolishness." Rock Solid Rock!

Dustin participated in Grace Church's VBS this summer. The theme was Rock Solid Rock with a very clever drama running all week along the theme of David and Goliath.

Dustin's role each day was to MC the rally's where 900 kids and 350 volunteers gathered from their classrooms for a big assembly. Each day he surprised the kids by riding out on a different unicycle, of course building up to the ten footer at last.

Dustin had the opportunity to share the gospel with the kids on the last day and again with families Friday evening during the Family Drama Night which seamed the daily drama together and celebrated all that God had done throughout the week. Many kids choose to make Jesus their Solid Rock to build their lives on. It was an exciting week where we saw God at work in many ways.

We were blessed by a visit from the Isaaks, missionaries with Light in Action in Brazil. It was fun to connect with other missionaries and hear their passion for teaching God's truth to the world. They mean business, as you can see...their daughter, not yet 3 years old, had numerous verses memorized and inspired us all!

Dustin recently performed the UniShow in Blaine MN at Good Shepherd Covenant Church for a community outreach. There was a great and responsive audience and Dustin gave them a good show and Jesus! It was a special evening for us since a member of our prayer team attended to pray through the program in real time.

O Canada!

Early June we participated in a weekend of outreaches in Moosonee Ontario Canada. After a smooth boarder crossing into Canada, thanks to the prayers of many, and 17 hours of driving, we unloaded then parked our van and trailer in Cochrane Ontario. All our equipment was then loaded onto a box car and we boarded a passenger car for the 5 1/2 hour train ride up to Moosonee, the only way into the town besides a small airport.

Rob, our Moosonee host, was in the band we toured with in Azerbaijan last spring. It was fun to reconnect with him and meet his family and in-laws who are very involved in community outreaches, desiring to serve and share Jesus with the locals. His three daughters kept us entertained and smiling all weekend and were amazingly well behaved and adaptable to the activities of each day.

We had a great weekend with 2 school assemblies, a two day youth conference and a community outreach where nearly 500 of the 2,500 population showed up! Rob's band, theBetween, also performed and Steve Tulloch spoke powerful messages throughout the weekend. Dustin was a hit and besides sharing Jesus, he inspired many to take up the challenge of unicycling. We had 10 extra unicycles for kids to try all weekend and many gave it a successful whirl!

To top off our Canadian experience, we enjoyed the tastes of poutine and Tim Hortons and had 5 moose sightings!

YFC Xtreme Tour 2009 West Central Minnesota

April 13-18 was the West Central Minnesota Youth For Christ Xtreme Tour 2009. Monday - Saturday we participated in outreach events in local high schools and the Willmar Civic Center complete with inflatables, free pizza, the UniShow, a speaker and bands, such as Silverline, Fades Away, and Children 18:3.

YFC has a great presence in this area and are all about reaching students with the good news of Christ. It was exciting to see many kids respond to the gospel and the hope that Jesus brings. We had many opportunites to pray with students and we know many seeds were planted this week that we pray will grow and produce lasting fruit.
